Happy Valentine's Day

Anyone who knows me, knows Valentine's Day is my favorite day of the year. This year was no exception. My sweet husband gave me chocolate covered strawberries TO DIE FOR, chocolates, chocolate covered raspberries, balloons, and GORGEOUS flowers. He went above and beyond. It was so nice to spend the day with my mom and dad, my two gorgeous daughters, and part of the day with my amazing husband.  I have the greatest Valentines ever!!!

World's Greatest Sister

I know it has only been two weeks since Destiny has officially joined our family, but I am beyond amazed at how well Felicty is doing. She ADORES Destiny and takes such good care of her. She hasn't shown an ounce of jealousy - and is so gentle and helpful. It has been amazing to watch her and the sweet girl she is growing up to be.
A few days before Destiny was born, we took Felicity to Build a Bear to make a special stuffed animal for her sister. She looked through several before choosing a kitten for Destiny and a bear for herself.
She was really sleepy at the store, but still helped pick out just the right heart to go inside and gave it a kiss...
 Help sew up the back...
And give them both a nice bath and hair brushing.
I can't believe how grown up my baby is!
I love you Felicity Anne. Thank you for being the World's Greatest Sister.

Destiny... Beautiful beyond description.

Just wanted to share some adorable pictures. I thought a few Smoot girls in Kansas might enjoy these! Love you girls! Enjoy!

Already a week old

I can't believe Destiny is already a week old. She has been such an amazing baby and a huge blessing in our lives.
Felicity holding Destiny at her baby shower (thrown by my two amazing sisters). Not many babies get to attend their own baby shower!
Nose!!! Could it be any cuter?
Destiny is soooo beautiful! We love her so much.
 Especially Felicity!

They BOTH love each other. They are so sweet to watch together.
I can tell we have a lot of amazing days ahead of us!

Proundly presenting... Destiny Lynn Cozad

After three months of bed-rest, I'm glad to report that we finally SAFELY have our Destiny. We scheduled an induction date for January 30th. After days of constant contractions, Tuesday, the contractions weren't too bad so I decided to make a grocery run to Wal-Mart, knowing it might be the last chance I'd have for a while. The contractions at the store got REALLY bad and after getting home, Jon and I decided it was finally time to head to the hospital. We packed up our bags, unsure if they would send us home telling us it was false labor again. We got to the hospital around 7pm. After an hour, they admitted me and we called Erica to come pick up Felicity.
The labor wasn't progressing fast enough, so they gave me pitocin to speed things up. Things still went really slow. I couldn't seem to get dialated past a 6, even with high dosages of pitocin.
Fast forward to the next day, around 6:30, just before the change of nurses, they decided that my doctor needed to come in and break my water or things weren't going to progress. Just before he arrived, they checked me again and I was dialated to a 10 and ready to start pushing. Around that time, we got a phone call from Erica saying she needed to go to work and we needed someone to watch Felicity. PANIC MODE!!! I was trying to hold labor off while Jon made calls, trying to find someone to watch Felicity. Destiny would be here any second. After 3 attempts at trying to find a babysitter, my doctor showed up and said I needed to start pushing. They baby would be here in less than three minutes. I started crying. Jon was out of the room and I had no idea if he would make it back in time -- or who would be watching Felicity. Finally, Jon found someone, and made it back in the room.
Everything went really quickly after that. I calmed down and started pushing. After four pushes, a BEAUTIFUL baby girl was placed on my stomach. What an amazing experience. She was so beautiful!!!
Destiny Lynn Cozad - Born Wednesday, January 25th 7:36 am. Brown hair, dark blue eyes. 6 pounds - 6 ounces -- 18 inches long. Completely perfect.
