The new Cozad family with our delivery nurse

Ever since can remember, I've dreamed of having a baby girl, my little Felicity (yes -- that's the name I always wanted when I was younger... I was soooo happy Jon liked it too). The day finally arrived but I had no idea Felicity would be so perfect!!!

After booking literally COUNTLESS hours writing sub plans for my fifth graders, making millions of copies, and rescheduling parent teacher conferences, I tried to patiently wait for our little girl to arrive. Her due date came --- and passed. Our doctor scheduled an induction for Friday the 13th. Kind of a scary day to schedule!

My mom came to visit from Oklahoma to help out --and landed herself in the hospital with pneumonia. Poor thing! She was such trooper and quickly recovered. She spoiled us rotten, buying groceries and things for Felicity.

Friday the 13th--

After TRYING to sleep, we hurried to the hospital for our scheduled 6:30 induction. I was anxious and scared -- but with my amazing husband by my side, I survived. I started the morning being dilated to 2 -- and it took until 9:00 that night to get to a 10. It was such a long day. The nurses and doctors kept asking if I wanted an epidural because my contractions were so intense... I was planning to get one but wanted to wait until I couldn't stand the pain anymore. When I finally got the epidural, ahhhh... everything was so nice. (Minus of course not being able to tell when I had my hand on something warm and squishy in my blanket that it was my leg ---)

It only took about 20 minutes once I started pushing for Felicity to get here. I was surprised how easy it was. Jon was so wonderful. He stayed by my side the whole time and I couldn't have done it without him. Erica, Heather, Jon's dad and mom, and my mom were all there as well. Only two people were allowed in my room at a time -- which was really annoying. Right as Felicity was born, one of the nurses in the hospital came and kicked out all of our family from the hospital saying that they weren't even allowed to be in the waiting room -- that only two people could be in the hospital. I felt so bad for them!

When Jon brought her to me after she was cleaned, checked, measured, etc... I couldn't believe how perfect she was. I had to get about 30 stitches because I tore pretty bad. I won't go into much other detail than to say we're home, happy, and loving every minute with our beautiful Felicity Anne Cozad.

I'll try to update more often -- and post as many pictures as I can.
